Since the Bazaar series were executed during this, most important Shiite holiday (The martyrdom of Imam Husain) and Bazaars have always been the epicenter of these ceremonies, embodying this event became the inseparable and complimentary part of the archive. There are three main segments to this event. The cooking; millions of people are fed free food, supplied as alms by people of higher economic standing and which clearly includes all Bazaar businessmen. Taaziye, which is an open-air play, depicting the events that took place on these two days almost 1400 years ago; and finally, Sinezani which is large groups of people, doing a mourning march which starts from different mosques around the city, carrying variety of symbols, at times quite heavy; and giving themselves light-chain slashes on the back, a self-afflicted act of pain to portray their grief for what took place back in the early stages of Islam’s formation .
