Abstract Pen & Ink

In 2001 I decided to go through a psycho analysis process with a Jungian analyst simply to recognize and overcome the hinderances that were obstructing my individual as well as psychological growth and development; this led to my first ever abstract series, the style of which was inspired by my mentor’s work. The process starts with main preliminary lines drawn with utmost fluidity and no preplanned intention in mind, the second stage embodies the opposite characteristics, focus, discipline and endurance; building on the main lines with endless scribbles; allowing the work to slowly emerge until it was considered complete. The unforgiving nature of paper along with nib-pens made this series very meditative and time consuming and after a year and half it came to a halt. I never exhibited nor did I work in this style again.
