Games Without Frontiers

In 2007, Behshad encountered the profound experience of fatherhood, which evoked a complex mixture of emotions. The exhilaration of embracing a new chapter was accompanied by uncertainty about how this new life would navigate the realities of the world. This series emerged both as an expression of these conflicting feelings and as a synthesis of the various styles the artist had explored over the years, brought together within a conceptual framework.

The works juxtapose simple representations of children’s games, rendered with deliberate simplicity, against dense, often chaotic collages composed of mass media imagery. This contrast creates a dialogue between innocence and complexity, order and disorder—reflecting the artist’s contemplation of parenthood and the broader social environment.
